MODEL-BASED DESIGN, OPERATION AND CONTROL WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANTS

Description: The contents of the course are aimed at learning and practising the main model-based methodologies for the selection of design and operating parameters in a modern WWTP with carbon and nitrogen removal. The course will include some theoretical sessions to present the fundamentals of the main processes in the water and sludge lines and the mathematical models commonly used for their dynamic description. The theoretical classes will take place in the morning and PC practical sessions in the afternoon. The last day (Friday 17th) we’ll visit the Galindo (Bilbao) WWTP. Oriented to: Undergraduates in their final years from industrial, chemical, environmental engineering or biological sciences, as well as Master students or PhD students. It is also very interesting for professionals developing their career in research centres, water engineering or consultancies.
